- $50,000 Donation to Bradford PTA
- Bradford PTA received an anonymous donation of $50,000. Donor’s intention was inspiration for all of Bradford’s community.
- A few parameters were kept in mind in brainstorming projects:
- PTAs are strongly discouraged from carrying over funds from year to year
- PTAs cannot pay for teacher salaries or capital projects
- PTAs cannot do “pass-through” donations to other organizations
- Proposed Plans for Donation
- Teacher Grant
- Proposal: To fund an annual teacher grant for $4,000 for at least 3 years.
- This would be a single large grant, in addition to the ones we already offer teachers
- Magnet Day
- Proposal: Launching a day similar to Watchung’s STEAM Night, Northeast’s Global Festival, or Bullock’s Eco-Day, utilizing MSU and our University magnet theme for an annual free community celebration that excites students, exposes them to many areas of study at MSU, and brings the community together.
- If interested in helping plan this, please reach out to ptapres@bradfordpta.org
- Outdoor Revitalization Project
- Proposal: A multi-year outdoor revitalization that would include:
- Moving and updating the garden beds
- Plantings and natural materials to create an outdoor classroom and “chill” space
- If possible, work with the district to help towards field repairs.
- We cannot pay for capital infrastructure projects, we have met with the superintendent, and other district officials (as well as Dr. Sedita), to explore if there is a way forward to repair Bradford’s field.
