This year, Bradford PTA is running a Membership Drive from September 8th through September 24th! At Bradford PTA, our goal is an inclusive organization where every family belongs and every voice is heard. Joining connects you to our school community, supports our teachers, and gives you a vote on key decisions, without any obligation to volunteer or attend every meeting. Plus, the grade level with the highest membership representation by September 24th will win an Extra Recess and a Popsicle Party! (Have children in multiple grades? List all of their grades when you join, and your membership will count toward each grade total!)

Your membership includes:

• Member Perks: Voting rights at general meetings, plus NEW early access to After-School Enrichment registration and a printed school directory.

Your dues directly support:

• Classroom & Student Programs: Teacher grants for supplies, inspiring school assemblies, and facility improvements.
• Equity & Community: Scholarships for enrichment and class trips, and traditions like our Movie Night, MLK Jr. Day of Service, and Colorful Spring Celebration.

We are still seeking Class Parents for the upcoming school year, and wanted to highlight that the following classes do not have any volunteers yet: Barroqueiro, Michaud, Morden, Mejia, Liddy, De Candia, Tatigian, Giasone. Class Parents help coordinate class parties, organize teacher gifts, and keep communications flowing between the PTA, teachers and families. Sign up by Friday, September 11th at this link.

Join us for Coffee with Dr. Sedita on Friday, September 11th, right after drop-off (starting at 8:40 am). This event is open to all Bradford families and is a great opportunity to meet and informally chat with our principal, while enjoying a little caffeine.

We had some amazing Bike Bus records last spring with up to 34 students and 24 adults riding, including 5^th-grade math teacher Mr. Barry and celebrity rider Dr. Sedita himself! As many as 400 children participate in Bike Bus townwide each week – it’s time for your family to join us! Bike Bus builds community, independence, and fitness. It’s so fun to have our parade of riders cruise by Watchung’s young riders going in the other direction, with everyone’s music playing and bells ringing. Montclair’s bike bus has been featured in many news pieces. To join us, just fill out this google info form – free and fun! This year’s 5th Grade Committee will be holding their first, virtual meeting on Thursday, September 10th at 8PM on Zoom. The meeting will discuss goals and special events for the year. For those who are interested in attending the meeting and/or would like to be included in future volunteer opportunities and participation, please email adriana.podvesker@gmail.com and tdaftary@gmail.com.

With the new changes in bus eligibility, the school anticipates an increase in kids being dropped off via car. To help staff keep the car line moving and ensure student safety, we are again asking for volunteer help. The PTA is seeking two volunteers each morning from 8:40 – 8:50am to help open car doors and direct traffic to move down College Ave. If you’ve got 10 minutes in the morning, please sign up for a shift here.
